How do you keep mold from growing?

7/28/2018 (Permalink)

Mold is in every home without fail because they are microscopic and found everywhere. Each year billions of mold spores are produced in the fall from the decaying leaves and extra moisture. The mold spores will enter your home through the air currents and even your pets. There is no way of assuring that mold does not get in your home. However, we can prevent the spores from growing.

Controlling the Water Controls the Mold

You cannot see mold spores unless you have a microscope but there are times when they are visible. These times are the most worrisome for a homeowner. Seeing mold after a broken pipe or toilet overflow is normal because mold needs water to begin growth. Mold will start to grow on anything organic once moisture is introduced and usually only takes between 24 to 48 house. Visible mold growth will look like little discolored spots at first and then grow to be large fuzzy colonies.
